I believe that the Lord is saying the following to His people

In summary:

It is the year of resurrection, of Restoration. He, our Maker, is going to restore and resurrect all that has died within you. Your heart will beat again with fervour, you will rise up, stretching and exercising your wings, catching the winds of My Spirit. Come, My children become airborne and fellowship with Me in the Heights of My Spirit. I will strengthen you again and you will understand the great purpose for which you have been conceived – walk into your destiny. Come make that decision tonight.¼br /> As you learn to truly find protection in Me you will discover that I will take the battering. Humble yourselves and crawl under the shelter of My strong, eternal wings.
Do not focus upon your wounds, lacks or your past reproach or trials but rather focus upon Me and your glorious future. It matters not that you are scarred. What matters is that you focus on me in this new day that is breaking, receiving your destinies - receiving your enlarged territories.
Every person who is saved should take courage now and start exercising and spreading your wings catching the powerful last-day wind currents that will take you into the fulfillment of your destiny.

Glenda preached at our church for two nights. She preached on rejection and forgivenes. It was the most amasing sermons. I was blessed. .

She said a few things that made me think. I quote: It has been proved that at 16 weeks the baby in the womb has emotions. He or she can feel love or rejection. In th case of adoption, the moment the mother decides to give the baby up for adoption, the baby feels the rejection\”. As social worker I now have a better understanding why some adopted children have problem behaviour.  When one child is favoured in a familythe other child feels rejected. She also talked about the 5 love languages.

The roots must be removed, axd away.

We must become secure in God, find our identity in Christ.

Tonight she spoke on soul ties and forgiveness.

She started off by singing. Thn she said yYou(God)  are an all consuming fireand the perishale things will die and the rest will grow.

Her scripture reading was from Nehemiah 4. I will tell you later this weekend more about tonights service.

Jesus Is Precious Because He Removes Our Guilt.  Romans 3:19-26

There is no distinction, since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, we are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as expiation by his blood, to be received by faith. God justifies him who has faith in Jesus.  God takes our guilt away by grace and replaces it with joy and peace.
We have heard the gospel of Jesus Christ, that the debt we owe to God cannot be paid off by our good works. Our answer is Jesus. He has grace and gives joy and peace. And it is rationally compelling to the open mind. No man ever spoke like this man, Jesus (John 7:46). He can be trusted. He is true. He endorsed the Old Testament, and it is he who speaks by his Spirit in the New Testament. Therefore, it is enough for us to hear from him through his apostle, Paul, how God has dealt with our guilt. It is the best news in the entire world. It is the only strategy that owns up to the truth of God\’s righteousness and the depth of our debt before him. Once you have been grasped by God\’s way of dealing with your guilt, every other way will seem thin and superficial and utterly inadequate by comparison. And you will rejoice with me that \”Jesus Is Precious Because He Removes Our Guilt.\”
God Put Christ Forward for Our Justification. Justification Comes Only by Faith. The final point now is that this free gift of justification purchased by Jesus on the cross only comes to those who trust in him. After Paul says in verse 21 that God has manifested his righteousness apart from law, then he defines that righteousness in verse 22 as \”the righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe\” (cf. Philippians 3:9), then in verse 25 he says that Christ is an expiation (or propitiation) \”through faith,\” or \”to be received by faith.\” Finally in verse 26 he says that God \”justifies him who has faith in Jesus.\” So the teaching of God\’s Word is plain, and this is the gospel: anyone who trusts in Jesus for justification will have it freely. Yes, friends of my heart, fellow believers, this gift of justification, the removal of our guilt and God’s wrath, come only to those who trust in Jesus (vv. 22, 25–26). I urge you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:20). Turn away from all the intellectual, physical, and religious tactics the world uses to evade its guilt, and rest in Jesus. Jesus is precious because he alone removes our guilt.
Brothers and sisters of this cell here in Maria’s house, I pray for two things to-night 1. That by your faith in Jesus you will have joy and peace. All guilt will be removed.  2. I pray for healing in your bodies. Healing! Healing! Healing! By His stripes we are healed!

INTRODUCTION.

Let us pretend we are walking in a garden and there we meet with Jonah, Lot, Jesus and John. Our first conversation is with Jonah. That same Jonah who was in the belly of the big fish for three days and three nights.
Jonah, we ask him, “Do you have any advice for us as Christian’s today”
Jonah replied: “You Christians, yes you Tia and most of you who sit here to-day, you have often asked for The Lord’s presence to go with you. You must do it more and more till it becomes a reality to you. I was a prophet who tried to run from His presence. Many of you are doing the same, when things become a bit hot and Jesus say to you come closer my child, closer, you run. I had come to understand the responsibility that comes from being close to him. In His presence all wood, hay and stubble is consumed.
He is a Holy God and if you want to walk close to Him you must live Holy too and follow His instructions. There is no place for HIDDEN SIN. If you have a hidden sin, He may send a great beast out of the sea and you may land in the belly of the beast. It will swallow you for a time and you will be at a dangerous place. But you will be vomited out and then you will be ready to go and tell, to follow His instructions and to preach His message. You don’t need to be swallowed you can repent to-day here in this church and go the way He wants you to go from today. It may not be so easy and comfortable in the beast’s belly it may be really difficult. Repent now, change your ways and follow Him. Don’t let the beast, as a result of your sin or your unwillingness to change, swallow you. People run to Him and not from Him as I did”.
Then Lot said: Remember the mercy the Lord had for Nineveh. He had mercy because Jonah preached. Tia, you asked why you always have to bring these difficult words, God said to Jonah “Arise go to Nineveh, that great city and cry against it, for their wickedness has come up before me.”  When he was out of the belly Jonah did what God asked him to do and Nineveh listened. Everybody including the King dressed himself in sackcloth and cried out before the Lord – they travailed as Babette said. And they turned from their wicked ways. And God saw that they turned from their wicked ways and repented and saved the city. Can we do it Church? Yes sister, you must preach the Word and prevent the Lord’s people from perishing.
Jonah preached the word of God. There is power in the Word. The Lord saved me, Lot, in a wonderful miraculous way. And you people of this church?  I first had to be obedient and listened to His word. There is power in the word. There is no darkness so dark that He cannot penetrate it. Abide in His presence always. He is the Lord of all.
Jonah interrupted: He is the Lord of all and not our servant. We must everyday ask Him what He wants and not always and only ask things from Him. We must call on Him and ask what He wants for Himself and what He wants us to do. A closer walk with Him – a turn away from sin – that is the main message from me to you.
Too many of us do our work without Him. He must be first in our lives. God does not exist for the sake of His house. His house and His children exist for Him. Those who hear the Lord’s voice and open to Him will sit with Him at His table.
Then I (Tia) said to Jesus: Jesus have mercy on us  - we repent today. We need your mercy and your forgiveness. Is there any chance that we will receive forgiveness?  And Jesus answered meBelievers will be given mercy. I will forgive you if you are really sorry and repent. THE TIME WHEN I COME AGAIN IS NEAR. The end times are times of great trouble and you cannot make it without me. Stop wasting your time. Those who seek to save their lives will loose it, but those who loose it, yes those who loose their lives for my sake, will find true life. I will give them an abundant life even more than they have asked for. I want you to talk to John and tell my people what I told John at the Island of Patmos”.
I asked John:  John,   What is it all about in Revelations?
And John said: “It was wonderful to listen to Jonah and Lot telling you to follow Him, to move closer to Him.
I had a wonderful experience at Patmos. Jesus telling me all these wonderful things – giving the last prophecy to appear in His Word. I saw Jesus dressed in a robe reaching down to His feet and with a golden sash around His chest. His head and hair were white like wool as white as snow, and His eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace and His voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In His right hand He held seven stars and out of His mouth came a sharp double edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.
Do you know it is all about Jesus? Read Revelation 1 verse 11. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last
Jesus wants you to read Revelation. It has a  blessing to those who read it,  Blessed is he who reads aloud the words of the prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written therein; for the time is near (1:3)… because it essentially shows the triumph of Jesus Christ in His Church…
… And Satan does not want us to read nor understand it, because it shows the total failure of Satan and his followers… and for centuries Satan has almost succeeded… but he always eventually fails!… read Revelation with much love and a little humility, and you will understand it as a glorious tool to help you to go to Heaven.
Sermon starts.
Brothers and sisters do you know that the book of Revelation
is an Apocalypse, a prophecy/revelation on many things - a quick glimpse of the future?
Above all, it tells us that Jesus is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, our Triumphant King with a total and eternal victory with his Church, for his Church, in his Church and to his Church…with the total and eternal defeat of Satan and his followers.
In the book of Revelation Jesus is speaking to His people facing persecution, facing death, to a people under all kinds of pressures and he said to them as He is saying to us today and this is the crux of the message in this book: It is all right, I have taken the heat, I come down to the place where you are, I come down into the furnace of your despair. I come down into the furnace of your heart and I will bring you out. The good news for us is that in whatever circumstances we find ourselves, under whatever pressure we are, however hot it is getting wherever we are Jesus says I am with you, to save you, to deliver you, to protect you.
In order to any clear understanding of the book we must never lose sight of its object, as stated in the opening sentence, to show to his servants what must soon take place… soon!… for you and for me, the day we die… and at the end of the world, of course.    But even before that, the book is The revelation of Jesus Christ, as He is now, as He will be all eternity, and what he is doing now for you and me…
\”Apocalypse\” means \”revelation\”, \”discovery\”… and the heart of the book is to discover the final, total and complete triumph of Jesus Christ in his church, with his church, by his church, and for his church… with a final total and complete defeat of Satan and his followers… it is a book of the history of salvation of the church, and of you and me.    Revelation\’s message is that he who is with Jesus Christ will prevail: He will have joy and love and peace in this life, and a glorious eternal one in the New Jerusalem… and he who is in sin, with Satan, will fail: He will have no love nor joy nor peace on earth, and he will go to eternal Hell.
A Book of Consolation: This is the part that many people never even think of:     Although it has over 300 symbols with mysterious visions and catastrophic cosmic events that seem incomprehensible, it was very clear for the humble people addressed… it was a letter of consolation rather than a book.   ¼br />     It was written for the Christians in a \”great crisis of faith\”: They lived in the catacombs, persecuted and killed by the Romans who threw them to the lions in ridiculous feasts of diversion, and it seemed that Jesus was doing nothing; he was not moving even a finger to help them…     … And here comes Revelation, to assure them, that eventually the final total and complete triumph is theirs.
As John said  … And Satan does not want us to read nor understand it, because it shows the total failure of Satan and his followers…
Brothers and sisters come let us  understand it as a glorious tool to help many to go to Heaven.
The value of Sufferings in life: They are the Trumpets of God. God loves us the way we are, right now… but he loves too much to leave us that way!
    - He whispers in our ears with the nature and the Bible… but often we don\’t listen to Him.
    - Then, He talks to us through His Church… and, again, we don\’t listen to God.
    - Finally, God shouts in our ears, with the trumpets of God, the sufferings, pains… they are the megaphones of God. My plea to you today is come listen and hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to you His church, His body.
Come to Me Have a close walk with me – turn your back on sin.
Many Prophecies of Revelation are meant for the End of the World… but also for your life and mine today!… every person on earth will have to suffer his own Abomination of Desolation and his own Great Tribulation… the call of every Trumpet which are the calls of God to repentance… the megaphones of God..Jesus wants us to repent, to follow Him, to walk close to Him to turn our back on sin.
Here our Lord Jesus justly challenges the same honour and power that is ascribed to the Father. He is the beginning and the end; all things are from him and for him; he is the Almighty; he is the same eternal and unchangeable one.    Brothers and sisters in Revelation as elsewhere in the bible Jesus says in chapter 21 verse 7. He that overcometh shall inherit all things and I will be his God and he shall be my son. I want to be that son and you?
A story about a girl who had aids. I found the story on the Internet. (a slightly shortened version)
HIV
In the girls words.
From the time I was five years old, I can remember trusting in the finished work of Christ\’s shed blood on the Cross and His Resurrection over sin and death. I had a sense a presence and knew I was never alone since early childhood. I trusted in that still small voice of the Holy Spirit to guide me. Sometimes I just chose to ignore it.
Unfortunately along the road I went astray and often ignored the voice.
One of those instances where I chose to debate that voice was in April of 1983, around Easter. I was 19 years old. I was with my \”friend\”, Roy, staying with him for the weekend. Roy considered himself bisexual. We would often go out dancing to alternative clubs. I had a history of sexual abuse, abandonment and rejection. Like many children, I sexually experimented with other girls as a young girl, but my desire to be with females grew stronger. I was sexually attracted to men but also found I was becoming more emotionally and sexually drawn to women. Roy and myself had sex that night and just before the act the Holy Spirit warned me about a disease but I did not listen and …
After I started school that summer, I began to look at the life I was living. I tried to pull away from being promiscuous and instead became intimately involved with one person. She was my true love and the third woman I had been with as an adult. We remained turbulently together for almost two years. . During this time, I began to get sick. I was sick for months but my family doctors just kept giving me antibiotics that were not working to clear up my cough. I had diarrhea for over a month. The night sweats had me changing at least twice before I woke up to begin my day. That time not much was known about HIV and Aids. But somehow I got tested and got the results back, they were positive for HIV.
I just wanted to run to God and needed to get away from everyone to get a moment with Him, alone. When I finally got downstairs and onto the street my body was walking but my mind was searching for another place. I prayed as I walked up and down 5th Ave.  I finally decided it was time to let go and pray the sinner\’s prayer. I began to whisper, \”Dear Jesus, I confess I am a sinner and have missed the mark in every way. My life has been lived for me and I have not really trusted you with it. Please forgive me.\” I began to think of all the people I had hurt out of my own pain. I could not begin to remember them all. Then, Christ spoke in that still quiet voice. \”Come to the cross.\” As I walked to the top edge of the Hill District of Pittsburgh I stopped in my tracks and saw a picture of Jesus on the Cross. He was broken, bleeding and dying. \”Lay it down here. All of it. You can do nothing with it. Let it go. I have done it all. It is finished. Receive what I have given. Receive forgiveness and forgive yourself. Receive my salvation. I have saved you. Receive my healing. I have healed you. It was all done here. Take it.\” Tears rolled down my cheeks as I began to really understand that no matter what I had done right, I could never do enough. And because I had done so many wrong things, they still were covered by his love.
While I walked, I told God that I wanted to be healed and to heal me. I was overcome with emotions that came from a deep angst in the depths of my heart. My heart was crying out to be loved with the kind of love we can only get from heavenly places. That was the only kind of love that could heal me. I wanted it and I wanted to be able to feel it for others without being afraid.

Continuing to pace, as I walked and cried a heat came over me from the top of my head down to my feet. It was as if an electrical bolt had come down from heaven just for me. It left as quick as it came but I still felt hot inside like I was on fire but not burning. It was an incredible feeling. I began praising God quietly, through my tears of joy, from a place of overwhelming gratitude, right there on Fifth Ave. \”Oh, Thank you, Father. Thank you, Jesus. You really love me. I love you.\” I was given divine orders to go home and rest and get in the Holy Bible, reading only the New Testament and specifically the words of Christ. I was not to speak on the phone to my lover, Lila or listen to music that would distract me. That night was the first night I slept sound until morning. I had no more night sweats, dry cough or diarrhea and my throat wasn\’t sore. I was healed. I had to believe in what I could not see before I could see the invisible. My symptoms never came back.
But sometimes loneliness got hold of me and I would go into a state of depression.
Then I attempted suicide because my pain at being gay and heartbroken was so real. Again, God miraculously prompted my little sister to leave her school in the middle of her classes and walk home. She found me unconscious in my bed and the empty pill bottle next to me and called 911 and my mother. The doctors said I was a miracle but I didn\’t feel like it. I felt like utter a failure who had wasted her life and couldn\’t even end it right or stop being gay. Things did begin to turn around because I began to pray and ask God for strength instead of going it all alone until I got in a tight spot. I sought help daily, hourly, moment by moment until my heart breathed new life and my mind marched to new orders. (She was adamant)
Two years later, 1987, I surrendered completely and began to attend church, got baptized by water and fire of Holy Spirit. That was what I had needed all along. But, I had a hard time trusting and letting go of everything at the same time. Once I got the baptism of power, things that had me bound for over a decade, such as cigarettes and sex addiction, fell off overnight. I quit both almost immediately. But keeping them away took prayer, fasting and the word until I was strong enough to resist without second thoughts and third ones to give in.

God meets us where we are and gives us what we need, whatever the gift is, whether a prophetic word of encouragement or wisdom to take the next step or healing to begin living with a future and a hope.
True love had no conditions and is something given freely…it’s the only thing that can change us. Only by receiving God\’s love and healing can we even begin to think about changing. And some of us are really stubborn. We need all the help we can get. Remember, \”Love Conquers All\” (Omnia Vincit Amor-Latin)! That Love is what faith works by. Faith works by love. That is the only thing that overcomes death, disease, sin…Love! Love covers a multitude of sins and your private burden of sin, disease and death is no exception! Have faith in God…Mark 11:22-26.
I am now God’s child. I have turned my life on sin… I walk a close walk with him.
I took me years and so much love and forgiveness from God. He was there every time I stumbled. I wanted to live victoriously. I now have love and joy and peace.
End of story.

I got the following steps for a closer walk with God from the daily encourager:
SEVEN STEPS TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE

#1  -  Assume Responsibility For Your Own Life! But trust in Him. Let us look at the blind man Bartomaeus: \”When He heard it was Jesus coming… He Began To Cry Out.\” He asked for help. He knew that he had a problem.
Own up to your own responsibility. When you listen to people talk about their problems, do you notice that it\’s always someone else\’s fault? Teenagers blame their parents, Parents blame their children, and Workers blame their co-workers or their boss. Things happen you can\’t control - but you can control your response.

What did Bartimaeus do and not do.
    1. He didn\’t blame someone else. He didn\’t think that God or anyone else owed him something.
    2. He did go to Jesus. He humbled himself and sought help and deliverance.

#2  -  Believe You Can Change
\”Lord, That I Might Receive My Sight.\”
He believed he wouldn\’t walk away the same.  He believed the promise#3  - Clarify What You Really Need
\”What is it that I Should Do for you?\”
Specific prayers get specific answers. . He wants us to tell him what we need - exactly what we need. Jesus will meet your needs when you tell him what your needs are. But sometimes He doesn\’t meet your needs because you never tell Him what you really want and how you really feel.Notice Bartimaeus\’ cry - \”Have mercy on me\”. Yet notice, he didn\’t cry out for food, or clothing, or money or housing. He was given sight that day. He was healed that day - because he realized that his most basic need was for mercy and grace. He needed what only Jesus was offering.
And because of that, he was healed.

#4. Stop Worrying about What Other People Will Say
\”Many Charged Him That He Should Hold His Peace\”.
¼br /> Have you prayed for something and God hasn\’t answered you yet?
… Keep on calling out to God.
Do you have a need and God hasn\’t met it yet?    …Keep on calling out to God.
Are you hurting and don\’t have an answer?… Keep on calling out to God.Are people telling you to give up? Are people telling you to quit?
Are people telling you that God doesn\’t care? Are you worried about what other people think or what other people will say? Are you concerned about how it might look? Are you worried that other people will think you crazy or you\’re a fanatic?
    … Stop worrying.    … Don\’t quit.    … Don\’t give up
… JUST CRY OUT TO JESUS EVEN LOUDER

Have you prayed for something and God hasn\’t answered you yet?    … Keep on calling out to God.Do you have a need and God hasn\’t met it yet?    …Keep on calling out to God.Are you hurting and don\’t have an answer?… Keep on calling out to God.Are people telling you to give up? Are people telling you to quit? Are people telling you that God doesn\’t care? Are you worried about what other people think or what other people will say? Are you concerned about how it might look? Are you worried that other people will think you crazy or you\’re a fanatic?    … Stop worrying.    … Don\’t quit.    … Don\’t give up    … JUST CRY OUT TO JESUS EVEN LOUDER#5  -  Stop Waiting for Ideal Circumstances
\”As He Went out… A Great Number of People…\”.
Remember where he was in the first of this story. He was waiting beside the road. But look at v. 46. Others were already traveling with Jesus. Others
had already had the opportunity. Bartimeaus almost missed his chance. Jesus was going to Jerusalem to die.  This is the last time Jesus would come
through Jericho.  If he had missed Jesus, if he had waited for \”more ideal circumstances\”, he never would have been healed. We have to quit waiting for just the right time.We have to quit waiting for the right opportunity to come along.
It may not happen. We\’ve got to seize the opportunities God gives us - when He gives them.#6  -  Do Something Bold and Dramatic (v. 50).
\”And He, Casting Away His Garment\”.
Sometimes, we have to do something different. We can\’t do the same old thing. If we\’re going to break out of our rut; if we want life to be different, we have to do something bold and dramatic. Hebrews 12:1 says, let us lay aside every weight, every sin that so easily entangles us.\”

Sometimes, we have to do something different. We can\’t do the same old thing. If we\’re going to break out of our rut; if we want life to be different, we have to do something bold and dramatic. Hebrews 12:1 says, let us lay aside every weight, every sin that so easily entangles us.\”Notice those words, \”lay aside every weight and every sin\”. We know the sins. But what are the weights?  …Whatever is keeping you from keeping Jesus first in your life.  …Whatever is keeping you from running to Jesus.  …Whatever is holding you back from surrendering your life to the
LORDSHIP of Jesus so he can do a miracle in your life.  Bartimaeus took off his coat. He did something bold, dramatic and different.\”DO IT NOW\”
How many times do I hear… When I get older… When I get more time… When I get the chance… After I get past this test, or this meeting, or this problem, or this trouble. The scriptures continually tell us, \”Just do it\” (James 1:22-25;  Luke 10:25ff)

How many times do I hear… When I get older… When I get more time… When I get the chance… After I get past this test, or this meeting, or this problem, or this trouble. The scriptures continually tell us, \”Just do it\” (James 1:22-25;  Luke 10:25ff)#7  -  Follow Jesus
After you\’ve followed the six steps above to break out of your rut, then do what Batimaeus did - He \”followed Jesus along the way\”.  \”If any man wants to be my disciple, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily and \’follow me\’\” (Luke 9:23)
Jesus loves you so very much. You are all His children whom He loves dearly. It is time for all rubble to be removed. It is time for victorious Christian living. It is time that we all read the book of Revelation.
In Revelation John tells us what will be happening to each of us when we come to faith in Jesus: We will be seated with Him in the Heavenly realms. But first purity! You and I are part of God’s purpose. He wants an individual relationship with each of us – intimate and personal and He invites you – if you are thirsty
He is the King of Kings He is the Lord of Lords He is Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Oh He is the King.

BABETTE JANSEN: MOUNT HOREB 9 December 2006

Babette Jansen preached at our church to-night and is going to preach tomorrow morning and evening as well. She brought a dynamic wonderful, life changing message and I want to share it with you. Babette emphasized the fact that the word is from God. She is just the vehicle. I am sharing my notes.

Understand God’s will. Get the provision for God’s will. God’s will will be accomplished and he will give the provision for it. These were her introductory words.

She then talked about Christians being worn out. She put it in such a wonderful manner. The devil “rubbing” against the Christian or pastor or minister till they cannot go on. 1 Kings 19 verse 4. She used the example of Elijah who went to lie down under the broom tree and requested for himself that he might die, and said It is enough now, O Lord, take away my life. Elijah could also not continue. He fell asleep under the tree.

In this life it is about victory and defeat. There is no in between. God gave Elijah  supernatural provision – food and water – basics – to restore his spirit. God often takes us back to basics. We must die to self -  be empty to be able to be filled.

The angel woke Elijah and told him to eat. After he ate, Elijah went back to sleep. The angel of the Lord came again the second time and touched him and said arise and eat because the journey is too far for thee. Elijah arose and did eat and drink and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mountain of God. Elijah had the strength to walk for forty days and forty nights without stop.

At Horeb Elijah went into a cave but he was to go on to stand upon the Mount before the Lord. God wanted to meet with him on top of the mountain.  We must get to Horeb, the mountain of God, a desolate place, where the things of the earth don’t count any more.

God gave Elijah supernatural provision to do God’s will. He was able to walk forty days and forty nights.  That is the provision that we can receive – supernatural provision to do His will.

We need to get God’s will through intimacy with the Lord. We have His presence. He is omni-present. We must seek His manifest presence. Christians have lost touch with His presence. We need His manifest presence a presence where everyone knows he is more present here than anywhere else.

God has prepared Horeb for Moses, for Elijah and for you, us the Christians to have a meeting with Him.

  1. God will have no strength for battles without the strength that he gives us to fight the battles. In my strength I can do nothing, in His strength I can do all things. Do you depend on God in all what you do? To do His will, by His choice – when we say to God we will serve Him and get to His Mountain where we are cut off earthly things. We talk of our free will. Once we have made a decision for Him then there is no more free will then it is His will for me.
  2. Our emptiness is just our preparation to be filled. You must be emptied. Are we empty of our ways?  God is emptying us to fill us.
  3. The ground of our safety is not in remembering God but God always remembering us. God is holding our hand.   Our grip is pathetic. God has us in His grip and there we are safe. He keeps us back and brings us back with His tight grip on us.

Elijah went into the cave at Mount Horeb. How often don’t we find a cave to hide? God said to Him get out of the cave. That is what he is saying to us tonight. Get out of the cave. Our wisdom and zeal must be encompassed by God’s meaningful presence.

She continued by saying if you and I do not respond to the divine design that God has for us, we are in trouble. Whatever God says it is.

We have to experience the manifest presence of God. When God blesses it can be seen.

She asked the congregations how their prayer lives are. It is not a time to despair but a time to prepare. It is time to go to Mount Horeb. To die t self – a place of desolation – and then meet with God.

Go to Mount Horeb. God is bringing a new beginning, a beginning His way.

The church has not reached that place yet – wanting the breath of God. The breath of God will bring unity in the church.

Port Elizabeth it is time to die – to die to self – to die to pettiness and to unite. God’s will is unity in the church.

For myself I take this message:

  1. I must understand God’s will for my life.
  2. I must know that my progress is noted by the devil and that He will be trying to wear me out.
  3. It is always a case of victory and defeat.
  4. He will give provision for His will to be done.
  5. I have to have heart to heart intimacy with God and
  6. See His presence manifest.
  7. A new beginning where God tells me what to do.
  8. I must depend completely on God in all I do.
  9. My emptiness is but a preparation to be filled. God is emptying me to fill me.
  10. God has me in His grip
  11. I must meet Him  at Mount Horeb – where all the things of the earth are strangely dim – no don’t exist for me .
  12. If I do not respond to the divine design God has for me I will be in trouble.
  13. It is not a time to despair but to prepare.
  14. There must be unity in the church of God in Port Elizabeth.

I trust that the message will bless you as it blessed me. Tia Wessels

Brothers and sisters of Frontline Ministries we are called - you and me as we sit here today, to build HIS KINGDOM! We are not here to build monuments for ourselves, but a movement that will never stop moving. The river of life will never stop moving. The Spirit never stops moving.  This year we have a tremendous task on hand. We have to build His Kingdom. It’s a year of looking forward, of rising in the Spirit, of giving life. It is our task, the task of Front line Ministries to work hard for the Lord and let streams of life flow throughout this city and throughout cities and countries where He may send us. We must start opening doors. As we open doors for others doors will be opened for us – and I am also talking about spiritual doors.
Scripture Proverbs 3.
Our responsibility this year is to bring His word with our word and our actions. Actions have two prongs; the one is how we live in our every day life, our truthfulness, uprightness, kindness and the second one is our deeds; our good works, showing compassion and mercy.  But unfortunately our actions and good deeds are not enough - we must go and tell. The spoken word gives life. My message and my plea to Frontline Ministries is come people join me in my decision to walk in His will.
Babette said God has a special design for every one of us and if we miss out on that we are in trouble.¼br /> I tried to see the New Jerusalem  in my mind’s eye and I saw It is a city of beauty and of perfection. Our lives must be beautiful and without sin.
The believers of Jesus Christ will live sinless in the presence of the HOLY SPIRIT (in HIS HOLY OF HOLIES). Christians, born of the Spirit, are to live the new life in the present power of the Spirit, \”If we live by the Spirit, by the Spirit let us also walk\” (Galatians 5:16-25; Colossians 2:6).  The Christian\’s responsibility, and his normal attitude of life, is to yield himself to God (Romans 6:13), trusting God to keep him. We are called to love Him and one another and are enabled to do this only as His life flows in and through us. 1 Cor.12:12-13; Matt. 22:37-40. The sanctification power of the Holy Spirit, which enables a believer to live a holy life (Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 1:15,16
And that is how we will build the city? By perfecting and beautifying our lives and our walk with God.
THE PEOPLE BUILING THE CITY AND THOSE LIVING IN IT WILL:
 GLORIFY GOD.
Man\’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever. The glorifying of God, 1 Pet. 4:11. \”That God in all things may be glorified.\” The glory of God is a silver thread, which must run through all our actions. l Cor. 10:31. \”Whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. The great truth asserted is that the beginning  and end of every man\’s living should be to glorify God. Glorifying God has respect to all the persons in the Trinity; it respects God the Father who gave us life; God the Son, who lost his life for us; and God the Holy Ghost, who produces a new life in us; we must bring glory to the whole Trinity.
1 Corinthians 6:20, \”Glorify God in your body, and in your spirit.\” The glory we give God is nothing else but our lifting up his name in the world, and magnifying him in the eyes of others. Phil. 1:20, \”Christ shall be magnified in my body.\”
Glorifying God MEANS: 1. Appreciation and exaltation. 2. Adoration, 3. Affection, and 4.  Subjection.
If we glorify God, He will glorify our souls forever. By raising God\’s glory, we increase our own: by glorifying God, we come at last to the blessed enjoyment of Him ready for a life in the New Jerusalem
YIELD TO GOD. We have to yield ourselves to God as bondservants, that we may be what He wants us to be, in Him, in truth, to His honor and glory. Whereas God is Light and in Him is no darkness at all, we hereby yield ourselves to walk in the Light as He is in the Light and is the Light, that we may be in constant fellowship with Him and in Him, become Light unto the world, as He is the Light unto our way and our path.
HAVE THE POWER TO PRESERVE You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.\” Matt 5:13

LOVE.  Part of glorifying Him is loving Him and knowing that He loves us.  Let us decide to take the message out. The right place to start is here in His own House among ourselves. Let us love God and the people around us. Deep within us must be a will to show His Love to all.
HAVE GRACE AND MERCY.
I want to ask you a question to-day “ are you a minister of grace?” That means, what I am asking you to-day is – are you graceful to the people around you? Are you showing grace as Christ showed grace to us? Do you encourage, build-up and affirm people. Do you live your life your way or God’s way? We must restrain ourselves from might and power and allow the Holy Spirit to rule our lives to be grace filled. I plead with you people in your homes and everyday lives be graceful. Grace upon grace upon grace.¼br /> LIVE IN TRUTH. We read about mercy and truth in our scripture. Bind them around your neck and write them on the tables of your heart and you will find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
OPEN DOORS. It is for us to live in His presence and experience His manifest presence as we live close to Him and open doors for others. Your first step into maturity is not being concerned about yourselves but about each other. You can never give enough love. We should have a competition about who can love the most and the best. As we open doors for others doors will be opened for us. This is a spiritual principle.

DO YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE GOD’S ANOINTED ONES?
I  want to talk to-day to you as God’s anointed ones – all who have been saved have His anointing available to us. My question to you is do you know, do you realize that you are God’s anointed one? And do you have the slightest clue of  all the blessings that are available o you. Unspeakable are the blessings that we can receive if we abide in Christ the Glorified one.
It means that w go and live in His steadwe are clothed with Him. God clothes Himself with men today. We become God\’s temple; Your body becomes the habitation of God;  It becomes the temple of the Holy Ghost. We all know that Christ is God’s anointed one.  Christ’s is known as the Anointed one. And then we go in Christ\’s stead. The only body that Christ has in this world is our body. We are His hands, His feet, His eyes, and we follow in His footsteps; As He is, so are we in this world;  We do the works of Christ,
In the first place I want us to look at Gideon and how he was clothed with God. Turn to Judges Chapter 6 verse 11 – 15  . Would you perhaps say I am not worthy Well, Gideon WAS inferior- at least in the judgement of his peers  - and in verse 15 he pointed this out to God. He said that he was of the tribe of Manasseh, which was the lowest and weakest tribe in all Israel. Then, he said that his family was the lowest and weakest family in the tribe of Manasseh. Further, he was the lowest and weakest member of his family. So, he was the lowest and weakest member of the lowest and weakest family of the lowest and weakest tribe of all Israel! You cannot get much lower than that.. If we look back at that battle. God won the battle. He fought the fight for Gideon because Gideon was clothed with God.  It\’s not a matter of who you are….but Who you are with.
God does not seek people who are the most outwardly capable, or the most naturally \”strong.\” It is those who are in Christ with Christ
In verse 34 of Judges 6  there is a wonderful statement. Look at it: \”Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon.\” It literally says is, \”The Spirit of the Lord CLOTHED HIMSELF with Gideon.\” Isn\’t that a delightful picture! The Spirit of God WORE Gideon the way a man puts on a suit of clothes, indwelling him, empowering him to do battle. We must remember this principle if we are to be brave, effective soldiers in God\’s army! I read about a man who says that he begins every morning with this prayer and can we perhaps to-day make the same decision.  \”Lord, here I am. I want to be Your suit of clothes today. I want You to take me and use me. Lord, just walk around in me today.\”
When God moved on Gideon, He actually \”clothed Himself\” with Gideon. Now, you can understand how Gideon could win the battle.
It was actually God going to battle. God reduced the army from thousands to three hundred men  II Chron. 20:15. God clothes Himself with men today. Cor. 3:16.  We become God\’s temple, , Eph. 2:22. Your body becomes the habitation of God, I Cor. 6:19 It becomes the temple of the Holy Ghost, II Cor. 5:20. We go in Christ\’s stead. The only body that Christ has in this world is our body. We are His hands, His feet, His eyes, and we follow in His footsteps, Pet. 2:21.
As He is, so are we in this world, I John 4:17. We do the works of Christ, John 14:12. We must allow Him to be our God by functioning and living the way He wants us to do. Have you reached your physical, emotional and spiritual potential? Clothed with Christ you can do it. From Paul\’s body, which was full of virtue and the glory of God, was taken handkerchiefs and aprons which had touched his body. The power of these handkerchiefs and aprons healed people, Acts 19:11.
Can you say these words, \”Jesus is in me?\” John 14:17. God is manifested in my flesh, my whole body is full of light, Matt. 6:22. God is that light. The Spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in my mortal body, Rom. 8:11. Repeat it. God is in my body now. I am His dwelling place.  I Cor. 3:16. That is why people can be set free from sin and wickedness, when He comes in contact with them. That is why they are healed. It is God that dwells in me that does the work. That is the anointing. This anointing stays in me all the time, I John 2:27.
Isa. 10:27. \”No burden or yoke can remain where the anointing is, , Luke 4:18. No prison doors can remain shut where the anointing is. The condition is that we must take this anointing and use it.
WHAT CAN AND SHOULD WE DO AS THE ANNOINTED ONES?                 Let us read Isaiah 61 from the first verse.: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek, He hath sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to them that are bound2. To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn,3.  to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; and then verse 10. I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my Lord, for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness
Clothed with Him is a life of perfect victory and perfect rest.  No one can be discouraged with God’s anointing. I have a Comforter. I can comfort those that mourn because I am convinced of life after death, I am convinced of a wonderful life with the father in heaven.  Brothers and sister do you know, do you understand here deep within you that God can do all thingsand He can doit through you: His anointed one. ¼br /> It is not how much you are or have it is what you do with it! The spiritual anointing oil will flow when you use it to build God’s Kingdom.
Can you say these words? \”I am God\’s anointed. As the Father sent Jesus, so  sent He me, John 16:17. I am His representative. I go in His name, Mark 16:17. I have His power, His love and His mercy. I have His life, John 3:16. He is the resurrection and the life, John 11:25. He is dwelling in me at this moment, I John 4:15. He must be dwelling in you. Many things can and will and shall happen  because you go in Jesus\’ name, WE GO IN HIS STEAD.
Joshua 6:5 All the walls of opposition will come tumbling down before an anointed man, Nothing shall be impossible with him. Nothing shall be able to stand before him all the days of his life,  All things are mine, II Peter 1:3. He can say, \”I cast out devils and cause the sick to recover,\”  He can say, \”I have power over serpents and over all the power of the enemy,\”  I have power to get wealth.
A whole nation fled before Gideon\’s pitcher. The Red Sea divided before Moses\’s rod. Four nations were defeated when God\’s people began to say, \”Praise the Lord,\” Acts 31:1-6. The sun was shifted into reverse as Joshua spoke the words of God, Joshua 10:12.
Hunger left the lions as Daniel walked into the den. The Hebrew boys had more power than the fire. Elijah lived three and one-half years without a ration book.
God can do all things through an anointed man. It is not always His will to divide the Red Sea, make the iron to swim, or raise the dead, but it is always His will to forgive ALL of our iniquities, and heal ALL our diseases, Psalms 103:1-3. And use us mightily.
. We are kings and priests unto God, We have royal blood. We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. Are you a King are you behaving like a King. It is our responsibility to bring all His enemies to His foot stool.¼br /> I am redeemed from the fall. Jesus came to redeem me from the curse. He came to bring us all the way back. The Holy Ghost always prays through me according to God\’s will. He hears and answers, I John 5:14. Paul says, \”Gird up the loins of your mind,\” I Peter 1:13. If he can say that, I can say, \”Tighten up the loose screws.\” Meditate on His law day and night, Ps. 1:2.    I am led by the Spirit. He guides me in the way of all truth, John 16:13.
The Holy Spirit  is the Comforter. He gives you a peace of mind that the world does not understand. Since you are entrusted with so much, since you have \”this treasure in earthen vessels\”, II Cor. 4:7, be sure and walk worthy of the vocation in which you are called. Wait on your ministry. Prophesy according to the proportion of your faith, Romans 12:6. Fast often, II Cor. 11:27. Wait on the Lord, Isa. 40:31. Get out of the natural. He that is in the flesh cannot please God, Rom. 8:8. A natural man cannot receive the things from God, I Cor. 2:14. Spiritual gifts work only through the Spirit.
You are God\’s anointed. You are God\’s representative. Have a regular time to pray. Do personal work every day. Win souls everywhere you go. Stay converted. Stay connected.
Keep connected and you will resemble the son of the King,. That is what you are. Let us read Rev. 1 verses 6, 7 and 8. 6. And hath made us Kings and Priests unto God and His Father, to Him be glory and dominium  forever and ever. verse 7.  Behold He cometh with the clouds and every eye shall see Him and they also which pierced Him and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Verse 8. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was and which is to come, the Almighty. This God is my God and Your God and He anointed us with the oil of the Spirit.
In conclusion , I want to encourage you to act as His anointed ones, to speak as His anointed ones to live as His anointed ones. I want us to turn in our bibles to Luke 4 verses 16 to 21. Let us replay the scene in the synagogue. Usually, the attendant in charge of the scroll would unroll the scroll, hand it to the rabbi and the rabbi would read the passage where the scroll had been opened. It seems however, that for this particular worship, Jesus chose his own text. He turned to Isaiah 61 and began reading.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because God had anointed me to bring good news to the poor. God has sent me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind,      to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
Did it ever occur to you that  this reading that Jesus read is about us too—you and me. For each of us who claim to be people of faith, who have been baptized
we are the anointed ones. The Spirit of the God is upon us. God had anointed us—each one of us—to bring good news to the poor. God had sent you and me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor. Think about that. Let it sink in. We are the anointed ones just as Jesus was.  I don’t know how you hear that—whether it scares you to death, or inspires you to action or blesses you with hope. For me it does all of those. We have by our very nature as God’s children the blessing and the authority to proclaim good news to the poor. We have the blessing and the authority to release the captives, to restore sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free. It is our job as people of faith. We can see it as a blessing or a burden—but it was intended as a blessing.
He will give us wisdom, Luke 21:15. It will be the Holy Ghost that speaks through you, Mark 13:11. It won\’t be us that speaks.
As God’s anointed ones, we must not only proclaim this good news but we must work for it. It is our job to restore the sight of the blind in many different ways.  It is our job to release those who have become captive. It is our job to say to those to whom the church has said, “You don’t belong in the kingdom” that they are free—free to be the person God created them to be. It doesn’t matter what you have done in the past, the mistakes you have made, the sins and struggles you carry—in God’s love and grace you are free. We are the anointed ones. God’s spirit is upon us. And there is a world out there waiting to hear from us the good news of the gospel.
Lest any of us leave this place today wondering how we can fulfill our role of being the anointed ones, let me remind all of us that there are a million ways to proclaim the good news. Often we fall silent because we believe that we cannot speak. Every now and then we may be called upon to stand up in some public place and give account for the hope that is in us, but nine times out of ten our proclamation of the good news will be the quiet kind: reading a psalms to a sick friend, telling the truth to someone who has asked for it, ending a quarrel with words of forgiveness, writing a note that restores hope, listening to an old
woman’s story, laughing at a young boy’s joke, inviting a stranger to come in—those are all proclamations of the good news, and if we are ever stuck for ideas we can remember all the ways good news has come to us.”
Let us never forget Jesus saying As the father has loved me so have I loved you. As I have loved you, ye also love one another. Do we love as Christ loves us.?
The speaking, the acting the living and the proclaiming is one part of it, the other part is the blessings, the promises that we have – we have freedom – we have been set free, we have healing, we have protection, we have guidance, we have the mind of Jesus. For me personally it also means security, nurturing. The wonderful knowledge that as Jesus I am His child, His anointed one, and I will go in His stead and proclaim the good news. ¼br /> Clothed  with Jesus is nothing but giving up oneself to be ruled an taught and led, and so resting in the arms of the Everlasting one. Blessed rest It is the peace of God, that passes all understanding and that keeps the heart and mind., Paul said I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. And so am I and you. What a wonderful knowledge.
Come brothers and sisters let us enter God’s throne room Christ beckons us to His banqueting table and offers us a room in His house. Come let us experience the unspeakable joy of dwelling with the King of Kings.
A blessed life is ours for Jesus is ours. May our abiding in Christ and our being clothed by Him be our power to live to the glory of the Father, our fitness to share in the glory of the Son.

GRACE: GOD’S UNMERITED FAVOUR.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves;
it is the gift of God: Not of works lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
GODS GRACE: Yes, it is truly amazing! We don\’t deserve it, and there is nothing on this earth that we can do in order to be deserving of His grace.
Yet, God\’s grace is freely offered to all of us, regardless of what
we have done or where we have been. God\’s gift of grace… it\’s His free gift to us; the price has already been paid. Our debt has been cancelled and paid in full. God\’s wonderful gift of grace, the gift
of salvation through His son Jesus Christ, is the best gift of all!
But His Grace is much more - right through our lives God remains graceful to us. He never changes and we receive from Him grace upon grace upon grace. He forgives and forgives and forgives. When we enter His throne room of grace, when I wrote this first I said he gives us grace, and then I realizes he betstows it on us, He pours it out on us , Nadia’s lovely word he drenches us in it. I thought about this word drench of Nadia in Afrikaans Hy versuip ons daarin.¼br /> God may sometimes discipline us, sometimes quite severely, but he never turns His back. He deals with us, His own, in grace – beautiful, charming unmerited favour.
His marvelous grace really is greater than all our sin!  Our debt has already been paid. We here who have accepted His gift of grace by  accepting Jesus Christ as our Saviour, we have received his Grace. We have entered His throne room of Grace.   .
Grace is a virtue coming from God. A state of sanctification enjoyed through divine Grace. Approval, favour, mercy, pardon, privilege, reprieve
If we accepted Jesus as our Saviour then we should respond in profound gratitude.  We should be so glad that we have missed the gates of Hell. Not only have we been spared God\’s wrath, but we have also been given all His favour. Everything we are and everything we do that is of any value we owe to the grace of God. Dutch theologian G.C. Berkouwer said, \”The essence of Christian theology is grace, and the essence of Christian ethics is gratitude.\” It is gratitude arising spontaneously from a heart filled with grace that motivates us to obey God and serve Him wholeheartedly
2 Peter 3 verse 18         But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be glory now and forever.
Rom. 3:24-26, where the apostle tells us, \”We are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Jesus Christ: whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past; —\”to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.\”

Because of the grace bestowed on us He requires from us Holy living. And we can live Holy Lives once we use that grace because by His grace we can change. He wants to see Jesus in us.

What became reality to me while making this sermon is it all depends on how we see God – if we think God is wrathful then we will become wrathful, if we believe He is graceful and forgiving then we become graceful. If we believe in a God that really loves then we will really love.

We use grace to describe many things in life:
\"*\"      A well co-ordinated athlete or dancer
\"*\"      Good manners and being considerate of others
\"*\"      Beautiful well chosen words
\"*\"      Consideration and care for other people
\"*\"      Various expressions of kindness and mercy.
\"*\"      A life filled with love and laughter.

All these statements remind us of Christ. Come think of a few examples of Christ and grace. Jesus never taught on grace but he lived grace.  He stood alongside a woman caught in adultery. The law clearly state “Stone her” The people around demanded the same.  And Jesus said “He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone” What grace! The prodigal son is a story of grace. How he handled children … is grace. The Good Samaritan.  On the cross He said “Father forgive them …
My plea to you this morning is for us, Christians, to be Christ like in our dealings with others.
As we become full of God’s grace we will show a greater appreciation of God’s gifts to us and to others – the gift of life –
The gift of laughter, of music, of beauty of friendship, of living in harmony and of forgiveness. Yes we must forgive 70 X 7

Grace brings freedom.
We will become much less critical of other’s decisions and choices and acts. We  become increasingly less petty.  We will allow others to make their own decisions we will guide and not direct and accept their decisions gracefully.
We will become more tolerant and less judgmental. We will not lay guilt trips on those we disagree from. Grace and guilt trips don’t go together.
Once we know how to enter His throne room of Grace we can expect to take a giant step toward maturity. Grace and maturity goes hand in hand. We will be filled with compassion and empathy and mercy; we will have a kindheartedness that astonishes other people and make them jealous of what we have.
If we live a graceful life there will be no name dropping, no selfishness no boasting.
How will we get to heaven – by Grace.
If we make Christ the Master of our fate, the captain of our souls we will have grace. His name is the only name that will take us from earth to heaven when we die. And it will not be because of our achievements, our fame, our fortune but because of His grace and that grace he wants us to give to all around us.

GRACE LOVES AND SERVES, IT GIVES AND FORGIVES.
GRACE DOES NOT KEEP RECORD OF WRONGS. GRACE GIVES ROOM TO GROW AND ROOM TO BE TO DISCOVER AND TO CREATE. There is a kindheartedness around grace that is difficult to describe.
GRACE RELEASES AND AFFIRMS – it does not smothers
GRACE VALUES THE DIGNITY OF OTHERS – it does not destroy
GRACE SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGES. – it is not jealous or suspicious.
GRACE BRINGS HUMILITY
GRACE MAKES US GENEROUS
GRACE SETS US FREE.

Through God’s grace we can avoid sin. .
Jesus and grace
\”The law was given through Moses and grace through Jesus.\” John writes. \”Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ\” (John 1:17).
Nevertheless, Jesus didn’t use the word grace. But his entire life was an example of grace, and his parables illustrated grace. He sometimes used the word mercy to describe what God gives us. \”Blessed are the merciful,\” he said, \”for they will be shown mercy\” (Matthew 5:7). In this, he implied that we all need mercy. And he noted here that we should be like God in this respect. If we value grace, we will give grace to others.
Later, when Jesus was asked why he associated with notorious sinners, he told people, \”Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice’\” (Matthew 9:13, quoting Hosea 6:6). In other words, God wants us to show mercy more than he wants us to be perfectionists in law-keeping.
Now, I do not want to encourage anyone to break the law. But since transgressions are inevitable, mercy is essential. That is true of our relationships with one another, and true of our relationships with God, too. God wants us to know our need for mercy, and for us to have mercy toward others. Jesus was exemplifying this when he ate with tax collectors and talked with sinners—he was showing by his behavior that God wants fellowship with us all, and he has taken all our sins upon himself and forgiven us in order to have that fellowship.
JESUS IS OUR EXAMPLE. ALL THAT HE DID WE CAN DO, FOR THAT SAME GRACE IS IN US. WE CAN LIVE ABOVE SIN.WE CAN BECOME THE PERSON WE WANT TO BE.
Hebrews 14:16 “let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in times of need”
I want to end by asking you to set your sail for God. There was this little boy standing on the edge of the sea next to his grandpa. He was amazed that the wind blew in one direction but the boats moved in any direction. He asked the old man how this could happen. The old man replied “By the setting of the sail.” You see brother and sister, it does not matter which way the wind blows. It is the way you set your sail that will determine the direction of the boat.
Set your sail according to the two commandments
Thou shalt love the lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This the first and great commandment and the second is like unto it. Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
